Rules and Regulations

General Rules

  • Respectful Environment: Treat everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of background or abilities.
  • Safety First: Adhere to all safety guidelines and instructions.
  • Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Security: Report any security concerns to staff immediately.

Prohibited Items

  • Firearms
  • Power or hand tools
  • All-terrain vehicles
  • Flammables and fireworks
  • Pets (except service animals)

Smoking, Marijuana, and Electronic Cigarettes

  • Not allowed inside buildings or outside of buildings/lodge.
  • Only permitted in designated areas.
  • Dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Alcohol

  • Alcohol consumption is permitted only indoors.

Drugs

  • There is a zero-tolerance policy for illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia on the premises.

Swimming Pool

  • Open 24/7.
  • Use at your own risk.
  • No lifeguard on duty.

Noise

  • Must be quiet after 10 pm.

Service Animals

  • Service animals are welcome.

During Meal Times

  • Volunteers must have the opportunity to eat during scheduled meal times regardless the DeafBlind retreaters’ preferences.
  • Meals for volunteers and DeafBlind retreaters must be eaten in shared spaces, not in private rooms.
  • DeafBlind retreaters must be willing to compensate all volunteers for meals if they are off the premise during meal times.

Departures

  • For DeafBlind Retreaters
    • DeafBlind retreaters may leave the premises with their assigned volunteer only when accompanied by another off-duty volunteer during retreat hours for safety and liability purposes.
    • DeafBlind retreaters must be willing to reimburse all volunteers for gasoline costs incurred while transporting them.
  • For Volunteers
    • Volunteers are welcome to leave the premises when not on duty. Please inform the retreat team beforehand.

Communication

  • We respect all forms of communication. We all will strive to use the communication method preferred by each DeafBlind individual.
